Winter is a great time to work on some seasonal tasks in the classroom! Seasonal tasks are an effective way to keep your students engaged in skills that they need, even when they feel excited about holidays! Today, I have three winter freebies to share with you, and all are great for practicing literacy skills!
Winter Writing Graphic Organizers
This writing activity can be used in literacy centers, small groups, or whole group! Students will be writing about what they like to do in winter by completing brainstorming graphic organizers. They respond to questions: who, what, where, when and why. There are two versions: a version for students to draw pictures to respond, and another version for students to write words.
Winter Retelling Graphic Organizers
A set of FREE graphic organizers to help students organize their thoughts after a story. These pages will guide students through thinking about the elements of any winter book you read in the classroom this year!
Winter Freebie Comprehension Stories
A set of short texts with comprehension questions, just for you! These brief stories will help you quickly target comprehension skills. The short-answer questions will have your students practicing text evidence skills, in short spurts!
Happy teaching, everyone!
